Emirates

Skywards

Emirates Skywards is the loyalty programme of Emirates and flydubai, operating outside the three global alliances with its own partner list.

Emirates offers Saver, Flex and Flex Plus award levels, and separately sells upgrades, which means the same cabin can cost very different mile amounts.

Earning Skywards Miles

Miles accrue on Emirates and flydubai flights, Skywards co-brand cards, hotel and retail partners, and Skywards Everyday programmes in some markets.

Redeeming Skywards Miles

Redemptions cover Emirates and flydubai flights at tiered award levels, upgrades, partner awards, and Skywards experiences.

Expiry rules

Skywards Miles have a defined validity period that is not purely activity-based. Confirm the current rule with Emirates.

Transfers and pooling

Emirates supports buying, gifting and transferring miles for a fee, plus My Family pooling in eligible markets.

Buying miles from Emirates

Emirates sells Skywards Miles directly through its website.

Where the value sits

Value depends heavily on which award level is available. Saver awards can be excellent; Flex Plus rarely is.

Skywards questions

What are Saver, Flex and Flex Plus?
Three Emirates award levels with increasing mile costs and increasing availability and flexibility.
Do Skywards Miles expire on a fixed schedule?
Emirates applies a defined validity period rather than a purely activity-based rule. Check your account for exact dates.
Is Emirates in an alliance?
No. It has bilateral partnerships instead, including a close relationship with Qantas and flydubai.
